Default Home Made Rock Crusher advice needed

Hello all,i want to make a rock crusher and im looking for advice to build one on a budget,was thinking of using some 3-6hp gas engine flywheels,for my first crusher build and machining the crank shaft with the right offset for the adjustable jaws,if you have made one and would like to share some ideas i would really appreciate it ,thanks.

Think you might want to check out trip hammer crushers first. Other types require seriously hard (aka expensive) steel. Trip hammer types just use a cam to lift and let go (drop) big steel rods or bars. Such bars can be hardened on buisiness end with hardening welding rod.

We made a crusher using an old hay baler. Crusher was homemade using 1" thick T1 plate. I'll try posting pics.

We've crushed many tonnes of rock. 25 hp tractor is all that is required.
