Default TD 18A Crawler

FWurth the TD 18A brought $900 at the auction today. The tracks, pins, bushings, and sprockets looked good. The bushings haven't been turned.
The Adams grader brought $500. Here are some pictures.
The TD 18A must have been in the Army, the OD paint was showing through.
The grader is all wheel drive and could steer from the back axle.

Isn't that an Austin-Western grader? My uncle had one that looked just like that. UD-14 power? 4-wheel steer too...

Heins, that was cheap enough! I paid almost twice that for the one here and it needs a head and a few bottom rollers. Hope it went to a good home. The shipping to here would have been more than 3 times the price of the tractor. The local road dept here had an Austin Western grader back when I first worked there as a teenager, it was 6 wheel drive and had a simple cross bar for steering instead of a steering wheel and had a 471 DD for power. They traded it in for a new Deere 570-A in 1973.

ronm, I looked at the sale bill and it says it is an Austin Western so I think you are right.
FWurth, the guy that bought the crawler collects anything IH and he probably has 15 0r 20 crawlers. Most are IH some Cats. The grader has a cross bar for steering.

Yeah, the county road dept. here used to run "Awful Westerns" too...now that I think about it, my uncle had 2 of them, the first had the IH engine, the next one had the Detroit, it was a 6-wheeler. The county had one with a UD-16 6 cyl. IH.
