Default Otex, Indians, Cowboys, Tipytent, Campfire, Bison, Bears toys for the Steamtrain set

An stumblin find last week in Holland...

For many years we have with Christmas an real steam locomotive running set arround the Christmas Tree.

https://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=98362

In the years we bought 3 steam locomotives.
One of these steam locomotive we bought 5 years ago in Rotterdam from an olderly collector.
When we where at this collector i notice an glass show case with 3 horses and 3 Indians sitting on the horses.
He told us that his set came from the old Dutch toy factory Otex (Waalwijk) that does not exist enimore.

Now i have been in North America and Europe in Garden centras arround Christmas to search for an Native Indian set next to the steam train set.
I have search in all kinds of sets from North America until Europe and makes like Dickens but never found something about it...

Until an week ago....!!!!.

An week ago suddenly an antique Native Indian / Cowboy Otex set showed up from before the war in execly the good size to place it near the other statues in the steam Christmas locomotive set.

The set is heavy damaged but it is execly what i am looking for for many years...

Watch and enjoy....!

Here are some more,

Now the horsesleigh came from an new other set.
Now you can see it is execly the good size for the steam train set.

Now the most impression thing is the Bison/Bizon.

Bizon must be the same as the Buffeloo or more bigger.
Take an look how ancient this statue looks..

The Jeannottes wrote in there family interview that.Bison/Buffaloo poop on the ground and the soil was never turned by plow.
Why shoult we turned the ground while from nature never the ground was turned.
The white men is stupid..

The Jeannottes had an small part of ground on there farm that was never been plowed.
On that small part they hold there own cattle.

We also thought about this subject.
We still plowed our fields in fall but there are famers overhere that have stopt plowing and started only to cultivate there grounds.

Coming back on the rare antique set.

There are an coople extra statues like an Elephand, Zebra, Rhino, Hippo,
Those have belonged to an circus.
Wel there is an circus wagon on the steam train set.

Then there are an coople Polar bears aswel in this set.
Never seen Polar bears on the prairy’s.

Wel the Iniut Indians in Canada must have lived near the Polar bears and the Iglos.

So the Polar bears can be used aswel if we want...

We try to restore this set if it is possible for Christmas.
If we can not make it then it wil be partly restored.

Want you all to know that the restauration is in full progress.

With all the Smokstakers we are going to watch inside the restauration atelier.

Here is the end result of the first statues.....

Taken an look how beautiful the Bison and the polar bears started to look.

Mention they where realy heavy damaged.
Aswel to the indians aswel to the cowboys.
It almost looks that Isis is involved in this.

Now you all may know that i have been paying 40,- bucks for this hole set including shipping.

Sure they where all heavy damaged.

But if you realy wanted to know what Otex fugures are doing on the market then taken an look at the next collecters site...

https://www.catawiki.nl/catalogus/be...iek-oisterwijk

They are doing arround 800,- bucks each...

Now never have seen an hole set like this one + Indians coming for sale on the market in the last coople of years.

Now you all can understand how happy we are with this set.

I like to have an whale and an bald Eagle aswel.
I am sure they have made them aswel before the war..

Well, I also enjoy looking and the election is now over. Are all of these made of plaster (gypsum or other similar material)?

Alan it is somekind of gypsum but it looks to me an little harder.

Maby they used more harder in it.

The special thing about Otex figures is that they all where hand painted before the war.
So it was an lot of work making them.

We are repairing them with gypsum aswel.

When i have more time close to Christmas i wil also start helping.
Some arms are missing and i have to drill some tiny holes to place new iron for the holding of the gypsum.

Wil also try to rescue the circus animals aswel.
They woult fit nice to the cargo wagon of the steam locomotive.

Going to post for you the underside of one of the Indian horses.
There you can see the very old company logo coming up...

Not all the figures have this logo but the most and the big ones have.

Chris.
