Default 15 pattin saved

Passed weekend went to pick up a 15 hp pattin for my local club in Brookville Indiana. Took the some local Ofes to bring it home. We wanted to save building but time was not on our side. So we took it's frame and headed home on the four hour drive. Ever one made it home home safe.

Thumbs up Re: 15 pattin saved

Hope you took pictures before you tore the remains down. It helps you to be able to see what it may have looked like. Did you get the power or well driveee with it? Good luck with your new project.

Guy wanted an extra $1000 for the wheel. It would have been to much hauling.

Too bad about the wheel. Hope it does not end up rotted out or as firewood.. let us know how you make out with the engine!

sounds like a lot of money for that wheel. Keep in touch with the gent, you might be able to get it. As of now, it's just a wheel without power? The guy should have given it to ya! As Andrew said, it just might end up as firewood!

I just picked up a 15 Pattin myself! It's my second oilfield engine. It's in good shape and shouldn't take too much to get running.

I always wanted to own a Pattin, as they were built in my hometown of Marietta Ohio. My SM Jones engine has the same kind of pendulum governor. I do know of one or two here in the area still back in the woods pumping oil. I pass by the building where they were built on occasions. My father in law worked at Pattin manufacturing when they made mine bolts to stabilize the mine walls. They finally closed about 25 years ago. The building is now a contractors supply business.

Are you fellas sure you have 15hp engines 60" flywheels? All the 15hp I've seen have a bedplate like a Reid the front is curved not flat, https://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76352
