Thumbs up Re: Horse Drawn Hearse. Pallbearers Carriage, Oil Tank, buggies, wagons, etc. on Auct

Very intresting auction.

First chapter picture 3 and 4 are coming close to the Utrechter farm carriage that was used by the farmers overhere when they went shopping and go to church.

My grandfather had one with an fabulous interieur.

I woult go for the 2 glass carriages, the horse fuel tank and the US mail/post carriage.

Never seen that one before..

Thank for sharing Otto,

Chris,

Wish I had known about the auction earlier.

Less than 2 weeks away now and coming up fast, but the sale bill that was in our local paper and what I see on their website looks like some pretty good advertising for it.

I've seen several of these in person over the years including the Fuel Tank, the Hearse, the Dray Wagon, Milk Wagon, and several of the buggies.

Don't remember if I ever saw the Postal wagon in person or not. If I have it's been long enough I don't remember it.

The Pallbearers Coach is a beauty that I never knew he had, as is the WWI Army Ambulance.

One of those Great Collections you hate to see get broke up and scattered around, but I'm sure they'll all go to good homes.

Problem for us are the shipping costs.

Henric was last spring with an tractor friend on the hunt to find the tractor friend his old grandfathers farm in America.

They realy found the farm and full with the old original horse farmer equipment.
They are stil busy doing calculations to get it here.

But these horse farm stuff takes an lot of space with shipping.

The hearses are here to find aswel and realy beautiful ones.

Here is one yust been sold for 10 between 12 K in Holland.
This one is having white angels sitting on each corner.

They are intresting to watch but personaly i do not collect them because there have been sure laying an child aswel in, in the past.

This gives me goosepimps on an very sad way....

Otto give us the end result if you can from the auction.

Sale is tomorrow morning at 9am.

Not being a morning person I probably wont be there that early myself, but I will be going to get some more pictures of a few of the pieces.

I will try my best to get some of the prices, but it all depends on how fast they sell and how late I am getting there.

Hopefully a few others are able to make it as well and maybe help out with pictures and details on some of them.

Otto,

Have been talked yesterday with Jaap about the early funeral Hearse model horse wagons.

Jaap told that the hears model i have been post in this thread was not an Dutch model.
It is an Tzech republic model one and imported to the Netherlands.

The Dutch one where smaller and not so very high decorated with huge angels on the corners.....

The ones with the huge angels and decorations things are mostly coming from the south and east of Europe like Spain. Italy, Romania and Tzech republic in the early days.

Jaap also have seen an horse hears from Germany with an flipping an tumblin wooden thing on top....

Just curious... Why put springs on a hearse?

I was at this sale and it was a beautiful, perfect day to spend money. I thought most everything sold at good prices. As usual, some a little high, some a little low. But the quality of the items was first class. No real junky stuff. I didn't keep score on anything but the hearse and pall bearers vehicles went around $16K ea. as I recall. The real surprise was the Mail buggy that went for about $8K. Anybody who was there can jump in and correct me as I didn't write anything down. The farm implements were all super nice originals with mostly original paint and markings.
