Default Delco piston rings?

So I heard a rumor that Maytag 92 model piston rings will fit a delco 850, is this true? Does anyone know where I could find rings for an 8c3 delco?

The rough Delco engine I have I put Maytag rings in it and they worked fine. I have no idea what exact model it is because it was just the engine with no generator stuff at all on it. Stuck, rusted up clunker that I was told I was stupid and a idiot to give 20 bucks for it and that it would never run.2 weeks later I sent the guy that called me a idiot a video of it running.
haven't run it since,As the timing marks were rusted away on the cam and I think I have it a tooth advanced. Gosh that has been 15 + year ago I did that.

Yes, Maytag model 92 piston rings will fit. Be sure to remove the cylinder and do a thorough hone job first. Then run it for at least three hours (with a load of a few light bulbs) to break them in. You'll be rewarded when it has more than the usual "ho-hum" compression afterwards!

Be sure to take a peek at the condition of the valves also, and at least give them a lapping.

So they do fit in an 8c3? I looked at them on eBay and it looked like just three solid rings where as I have to solid and a ribbed oil control ring

I know they'll work in an 850 but as for the 8c3...I can't say. However, you can buy any size/type ring you need from the Otto gas engine works, one of the supporters of this site. If he doesn't have it in stock, he can make it.

I messaged Otto rings with my measurements. I was just looking to see if anyone knew off hand what would fit
