I matched up a rebuilt A/C Fuel pump at Carquest auto parts for a '56 Chevy six cylinder pickup and bought it just to take it apart and get the diaphragm out of it. Worked perfect! ... $16.95 I think.

I bought a Viton sheet here http://r.ebay.com/TH6u4N Use the old one as a template and cut out a new one with scissors. I made the holes with a leather punch. It has worked for hundreds of hours.

Isn't there a sponsor that sells pump kits and parts?

Viton is a great material. It lasts a long long time and resists more chemicals then any other rubber like material I know of. I learned about it when using O-rings in places where reliability mattered a lot more then cost. Parker recommended Viton every time. The only down side is cost. Because the Ebay rounds are leftover from there manufacturing process cost is not a issue.
