Default Horse Drawn "Standard Oil" Fuel wagon on auction.

Just thought I'd put the word out that there's an old Standard Oil horse drawn fuel delivery wagon coming up on an aution this weekend at the Sale Barn in Dakota Illinois on Highway 75 at the North East corner of town.

I haven't been over to look at it yet to see how much is there, but the sale bill says it's rough.

There are also a few hit & miss engines on the sale.

Schrader's Fall Consignment sale.

I'm going to try to get over to look at things later today or tomorrow, and maybe get a couple pictures posted.

Other than the wood wheels being totally gone, the old fuel/oil/kerosene tank looks to be pretty good overall.

One big but shallow dent in the right side towards the back end, but nothing major.

Engines are 5hp Stover, & 2hp Stover that look to be older restorations and should be runnable, then there's a 2hp Taylor that's torn apart but looks to be mostly there except for the mag, a 1 3/4hp Sattley parts engine that's 'mostly there', and another small parts engine that's barely there that I didn't look at close enough to see what it was. Sale bill said there was also a 7hp Ottawa on a cart, but I didn't see it there anywhere .... either a 'no-show' or just running late getting there.

There's also a nice Little road grader that we couldn't find a brand name on, a couple Case tractor heads, a pile of Wico & other tractor mags & some carbs, etc., plus the usual assortment of consignment sale junk to dig through.

That looks like a very nice tank! Wish it was closer to me... just what I'd need...an oil tank and a grader..
I'll be curious to see what it goes for.

Last oil tank like that I saw locally (about 2 miles from home) 20 years ago brought $1,800.00

I'll try my best to get the prices for you on the tank & grader.

Oil tank went for $375.00 and is going to Pearl City IL to Robert Block, who has already restored a couple nice old wagons including these two that were at the Threshing Show in Freeport last weekend.

Road Grader went for $420.00 but I didn't see who got it.

The 5hp Stover, I think was $875.00 the 2hp Stover I believe went back home with the seller. The Taylor, Sattley, & other 'parts engine' went pretty cheap, and the 7hp Ottawa was a No-Show.

Never quite close enough to home! At least it's headed to someone that will do a good job on it!
Thanks!

If you get a chance to get a pic I would really like one, I am restoring one right now but the original box that went on the back is missing and I am going to have to guess at it, Thanks

Sorry, but there was No Box on this one anymore. There was one short piece of one of the side boards, the tank supports, and remnants of the wood wheel hubs, but all the rest of the wood was gone.

Search standard oil wagon and should show you a museum that has good pictures of the back box. I had to move and sold my tanker that needed restored, that is where I found pictures.

Here is one that is coming up for auction this Saturday in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The Auction Company is Brinkman Auctions, and there is online bidding through Proxibid.

Not too sure about the paint job...
