Found these pictures of my home town Cornwallis Wv 1890-1900 oil boom. Still a little old iron laying around and some of these old wells still producing. My Dad and Granddad pumped alot ot these wells. It's just a ghost town now. Thanks , Skidmore

Found this old gasoline drum that came from my hometown a while back. Henaghan & Hanlon, Gasoline Plants were very well known in this area around the teens and twentys. I heard you paid a deposit on the drum when you bought the gas. Prodably could get a drum of good gas for what a gallon of this corn fuel cost today. thanks, Skidmore

JWithers you got it that's a Reid. Many of you that got Reids off Tom Schoolcraft years back, this my be your engine. This area was polluted with Reids up until 6 to 7 years ago.

That's a Climax geared steam locomotive they are on. Used for logging and mining railroads.

My wife's Great Grandad in 1902 drilling one of his 1st oil wells in Tyler Co WV near the bridge at Rt 18 /23. 115 years later and the Haught family is still drilling and that continues to be a hot spot today.
