Default Onan 6.5 NHMFA26115H

I have a 2000 Tiffin Allegro bay with a propane generator. The unit will not stay running, shuts down after 20 to 30 second.

I have replace with new parts....regulator
..... inline filter
.....inline solenoid
...... air filter
The tank was just filled to 100 full. Have removed all lines and cleaned them out. It will start without any problem but never stays running.

thanks to all that can help to solve them problem.

On that one it's not the AC voltage reg, it will run even if not making AC.

I'm guessing it's fuel. But could try using an inline spark tester to see if you have spark when it dies.

Might be easier to just take off air filter and dribble in gasoline from squirt bottle as it starts to die ansd see if can keep it running.

IF rpm is less than 1760 (58.7 hz) for 30 secs gov shuts engine down.
Also shuts down instantly if rpm > 2700 (90hz)

Got a killawatt meter to measure hz?

Have you seen the gen work normally before this ? Is this gen a new to you purchase?

If you have a hz meter, likely easiest to first measure hz and see if that is causing gov to shut it down.

They sell a cheap in-line spark tester )or you can make one, it's a ~ 1/16 inch spark gap. You put it in series with a spark wire. Acts a bit like a current sensor, if it sparks you got spark current flowing.

I'm only vaguely familiar with liquid propane on these, but service manual section 6 should describe some tests you can run on the fuel system.

Manual numbers and link to them:
