I've never seen one either, that thing is very neat! Same looking engine as my Park Special reel. Thanks for posting the pic, gotta dig out my reel and take a pic.

It looks like this thread did what I had hoped for in that it located a few more of these engines. To tell the truth, mine is the ONLY one I have ever seen. It seems there are about a dozen or so {at least} out there in various states of repair. It also seems that parts are nearly non-existant as no one has replied by Email,Pr.message or to this thread that they either have or know of any.Hopefully a few more will show up & maybe even some more serial #'s. I have noticed alot of variation in the air shrouds,Muffler's & at least 2 different ignition systems.{Flywheel & External Magneto}I am going to try & keep this going for awhile yet, & who knows what else will turn up.

As a follow up to this.........There is a Toro on Ebay at this time. The guy has no idea what he has & just has it listed as a Barn Find Air cooled engine. It is to far away for me as it is located in Ca. & I am in N.E. Ne. & he wants $110 shipping, maybe not bad to some, but considering that I would only be buying it in case I needed a part for mine some day it would be foolish. The engine looks to be MOSTLY complete & has the external Magneto,so it is a fairly early engine.Hope someone can use it that is closer to it.

The Toro engine on ebay is in my backyard, its only 70 miles from me. I will have to pass on it as I don't have the money right now.

I have two very old Toro engines.I will have to dig them out of storage now.One is like the one Junkologist shows in his first picture. It has a 6:1 reduction gear, that also is the cam gear and has three times as many lobes on the camshaft as a 2:i drive. The other engine looks older,it has a bosch magneto. They both are missing some cooling shrouds.

Glad to see more keep turning up as time goes by. That # 0378 has to be the oldest one I have seen or heard of,so far.
