I have serials # 1221 and 2607 ME engines. Both came with the Tillotson MS19B carbs. #1221 came with American Bosch FX1ED21V12 mag. The other did not have mag. with it.

What mags are on yours ME engines? I know the earlier ME came with American Bosch and the latter came with a Wico. I need to find 2 mags. One for my engine and one for a friend.

Mine has an American Bosch. I had Mitch Malcom go through it about 10 yrs. ago & he did a very good job, never any trouble with it & I run it every show season.

Finally got a chance to talk to Stuart Hall out of Vancouver Wa. at the Oregon Steam Up in Brooks, Oregon.

He confirm that Toro made 3 models of the ME engine. The first was headless with American Bosch mag., the second one has head with American Bosch mag. and the third has the Wico mag.

For the MF engine there was 2 models, sheet metal shroud and casted shroud

For the MH engine these was 2 models rounded head and flat head. The flat head started around serial #16900 and year of 1950.

Also during the 1950's Toro rebuilt some engine stamping a R in front of the serial #.

I recently obtian a parts break down for the Eisemann Model 71-F Flywheel Magneto used in the Toro model MF engine. I have scan it and am willing email them to you if you will send me your email in a PM.

The best I been able to find is a carb kit. Very little information is available on Toro engines. Planet Jr went out of business in the 60's or 70's.

Where can I buy the carb kit?

http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/IndustrialkitsT.htm

http://www..com/tillotson_yc.html

Here a couple companies listing kits. The MH engine should have a Tillotson YC-1B carb.

Also when starting a Toro engine don't forgot to open the compresson release valve behind the carb on cylinder wall. Easlier to crank.

I promised you guys an engine manual a while back and then forgot it. Seeing this thread reminded me so I got it done. The file came out over 9 meg. If you want a copy, send me a PM with your email and I'll send it over. This ating instructions and parts lists for models ME, MF, and MH dated May 42.

---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:12 PM ----------

Should be operating instructions. Don't know where the rest got lost at??

Well.......time to wake this thread up & see what else turns up. There was a guy on today asking about Toro engines, so I thought I would find this for him. Also wondering if any other Toro's have turned up ?
