Question Hobart G225 AC Power Problem S/N AAW-49172

Hello welder folks. I just picked up a Hobart G225 that runs perfectly and works perfect as best I can tell on the DC side. Even lays a good bead with Harbor Freight rod!

Problem is the AC side is kaput, when I switch it on (low engine idle @ 1775), insufficient output. If you have some specific experience with this model and this problem I would really like to hear from you. The engine rpm does change when I flip the switch to the AC position but I can't get a 110V drill to run that works perfect with house power.

The prior owner did some diagnostics but never came up with anything concrete. I got it for nothing so I can afford to put some money into it to get the AC side up given it is 4000+ watts.

Thanks Craig
