Default IH Cub Lo Boy

Hi, I've had some issues with starting my IH Cub lo boy. It's getting gas but getting no ignition. I'm going to replace the coil and spark plugs. Is it necessary to remove the gas tank hood assembly to change the sparks plugs? It seems that there isn't a lot of clearance. Thanks

File or replace the points and your good to go!!---I have 8 of these tractors and every time I go to use one, gotta file the points!
Plugs can be changed without taking the hood off, BUT it's much easier to get in there to them. Be real careful not to break the plugs off!-----It's common to have them break off in these engines. They are the C-60 engine, and most of them use Champ. D-15, or equiv. plugs thanks;sonny

I'd change the points and condenser. Lightly file the new points, as they sometimes have a coating on them. Plugs can be changed without removing the hood, as Sonny said, but it is tight.

When points are oxidized filing them will get it running, but if t he points aren't removed and buffed the corrosion on the sides will soon migrate back to the contact area. A thoroughly cleaned set is as good as anew set.

Unless they are pitted or worn.
