Default 1934 A John Deere (open fanshafts)

Well hello, folks! Just posted a wanted ad last week for a 1934 A JD for my dad. He's wanted one for the last 30 years, but never has found one at the right time when he had the money. Now he's READY to pull the trigger on one....just curious what all they are bringing now? I understand the prices are down from what they were several years ago. Anyone know where one might could be had nowadays?

Also, what are parts like to be had for them? I know several years ago you could expect to pay something like $1000 on up for an open fanshaft for one....I'm sure parts aren't any easier to come by nowadays.

Any thoughts and ideas?

Thanks,
Mike M

Just spent the last 5 years gathering parts for restoration of mine. Parts are available but takes some patience and searching. For me finding all the parts for the factory lighting system was definitely the most challenging. I do have a flat back transmission cover, rear flat steel wheels with 6 inch extensions, clutch pulley, and carburetor for the 1934 A that I am not Chris Wymann was an excellent source of parts for the common parts. I have heard of open Fanshaft A going down to $1200 for a real rough one and a running unrestored on may run $4-5k. Aumann sold a real early one in the first 20 serial numbers for 20k in the past two years.
