Hi, I was going to change the antifreeze on my Ford 2N but I cant get the drain cock to turn. Iíve tried using some PB blaster but nothing works. Any Idea on what to do here? Thanks

Probably what I’ll have to do. Not looking forward to it.

Are you trying to use the drain cock or take it out. I usually just pull the whole thing out when changing antifreeze.

Trying to use it. I just pulled the lower hose to get most of it out. Thanks

Are you turning it the right way?
It's either going to open or come out.

I have ran across ones that were so tight the bung came out of the tank! not too bad if you are good at solidering, but more work!

It won’t budge. I even tried using pliers. I don’t want to force it to much and snap it off.

If you stuff a long narrow rag through the hose opening to the bottom of the tank & let the other end hang lower than the tank bottom & over a container you will find over night it will syphon the remaining coolant out.

I've snapped a couple off over the years so I know what you're asking Vic. And once we snap it off it's junk.
I was noodling in my head just now if we can get at it, can we lightly smack it with a brass shaft or some-such to try to loosen the threads and the seal a bit?
Like slip knot asked kind of. Can you remove the assembly? I don't know the Fords at all. Perhaps it's soldered in without a pipe thread nut to use a 7/16 or 1/2 inch wrench to pull the entire drain assembly.
