Im very sorry for your loss. I have never been really that close to my father as far as bonding and doing things together. We tried it a few times when I was really young like going fishing and him and my uncle trying to get me into shooting at the range but it just didnt work. I wasnt into the things he was and vice versa. We dont ever really have conversations that we really bond on and thats just how it is. Two very different types of people. Hes in his mid 80's and Im just glad hes still around even though I didnt have the kind of childhood I would have wanted with him it doesnt make it any worse. My thoughts and prayers for your family esp with Fathers day only hours away. Sounds like you have many fond memories to look back on and enjoy as time goes on.

Sorry for your loss. He will be missed. Father's teach us many things. Some of which we don't realize until they are gone. Hopefully you'll keep up the tradition. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

Very sorry for your loss. I'm glad you were able to be with him every day. Our dad was 900+ miles from us, just a bit more than a sunday drive to visit him, so needless to say, we didn't see him for years. It does get a bit easier, but with anything it takes time.
