Default Dennis Jay Hitch

Dennis Jay Hitch, born, August 7 1947 Died August 13 2014. Dennis worked 44 years at Whirlpool while volunteering his time for the local fire department since 1986 he was chief of the Cairo Volunteer fire department from 2003 to 2013. Also participating in steam engine shows in Kentucky, Illinois, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and his home show in Boonville Indiana where he was instrumental in demonstrating threshing with his Keck-Gonnerman separator and Keck-Gonnermann Steam Engine. Also participating in demonstrating for all of the school kids on field trip day. He will be remembered by not only his accomplishments and acts of kindness but also for his selflessness, community involvement, sense of humor and humility. What you saw with Dennis was what you got. A rare, upstanding ethical man who lived by his own rule, "be good for your word" we will all miss him. Thank you Dennis for making me a better man. Glenn Miller.
