Peters obituary as written for Stationary Engine Magazine by Martin P. and posted here with their kind permission.

Obituary Peter Forbes
February 1946 – March 2018
Its is my sad duty to announce that Peter Forbes passed away in March after suffering a heart attack from which he didn’t recover. Peter was one of those people who would go out of his way to help anybody who needed his knowledge or some practical support.
After working for other companies Peter started his own called Prepair Ltd in 1980 designing and manufacturing Industrial Battery charging systems for the Railway companies, at the same time he developed an interest in Stationary Engines.
It wasn’t long before Peter began to offer other Engine collectors a small service, his business had him visiting customers up and down the country and If anybody needed something collected or delivered and it was on Peters route he would oblige, he was also a well read man and if he didn’t have an answer he would have a book that did. In 1998 Peter set about creating a Website dedicated to Engines, Peter & Rita Forbes' Engine Web Pages, currently there are 10,539 pages of engine related information, photograph and anything else engine related.
In 2008 Peter became very involved with “Fozzers Forum” a Stationary Engine Forum, he eventually took over the running of it from its original creator and has hosted it ever since, it now has over 3433 registered members from all over the UK and World.
Over the last couple of years Peter had some health issues but this didn’t stop him from building his large caravan trailers which he towed behind his Land Rover Discovery to Rally’s in the UK and Europe to attend Nuenen Rally._
On a personal note Peter was a good friend to my wife and I and when ever I worked away from home, which was often, he would ring my wife to check if all was well, she is partially disabled and doesn’t get around easily.
There are many engine enthusiasts who will mourn his passing and our condolences go out to his wife Rita and sons Robert and Philip.

This makes me sad. I am also a member on Fozzers Forums.

My prayers to Pete and his family.
