Default 1925 Mccormick Deering 10-20 electric start

There is a mccormick deeding 10-20 for sale on ebay with electric start. My question is was this a factory diversion or the handy work of a farmer making use of what he had? If anyone has more picture of another one like this, that would be great.

I know that this is an extremely old post, but I would love to find out who bought that and see more pics of how that was done.

Not sure why I didn't see that posting back in 12' but I built that starter set up when that tractor was restored for a customer back in 2007 I think. The ring gear is for an 806 diesel Farmall. The starter is from a late Farmall H. It does take a bit of machine work to make all of that. Rob

I may be doing something like that in the future, chiropractor visits helped my cranking back out a lot in the last 6 months but right before that I was thinking my cranking days were over.

Some of the industrial and construction applications used 10-20, 15-30 and W-30 engines. Some of these had electric start. I know of a W-30 with electric start. The engine came out of a road grader. Looks very factory built on the tractor. I know this will take a lot of hunting, but they are out there.

The only factory electric starts were on the W-30s. Never on 10-20s or 15-30s.
