Default Farmall Regular/F20 parts interchangeable?

Hi all - I'm working on a 1930 Farmall Regular and I need to replace the left side final drive - bull gear housing, gears, bearings, brake parts, etc. I've found some good replacement parts at a decent price, but they are from an F20. Are all these parts interchangeable? Also, are the parts left side/right side all the same? I'd appreciate hearing from someone with experience in this matter. I don't want to buy these parts and then find out I can't use them. THANKS!
Dave B.

Dave;
How's the 16-30 H Oilpull?
Brake drums on the F-20 are enclosed whereas in the open on the original Farmall. I have parts books but I will not take time to check right now. The parts would probably fit on.

Dave;
I went ahead and looked 'em up! You're in luck. all parts interchange, including bearings, except: Rear axle shaft which wheel bolts to, pinion gear and high countershaft from the transmission. The left and right big carrier housings are the same but the carrier plates differ from left to right.
I expect that you could just remove the entire final drive assembly from the F-20 and bolt it up to the original Farmall (Regular) high axle housing if its pinion gear is good. The pinion gear should have the same teeth and I see no visible differences in that axle shaft the wheel bolts to. Maybe they improved the steel or the heat treat. The brake drums and shoes are the same, but different covers over the drum.

Those bolts attaching the final drive to that high axle countershaft housing may be press fitted into their holes to prevent coming loose with the large forces involved.

Two of the wheel bolts in the axle are shouldered so the wheel holes have two opposite that are larger than the others on an F-20, the regular wheel holes are all the same size. That's the difference in the axle shaft, so these parts should all be interchangeable. When we have had to put regular rear wheels on an F-20 we just reamed those two holes out on the wheel. I think the problem IH ran into was that the wheel bolts came a bit loose and wore out the holes unnoticed until it was too late, so the improvement was two wheel studs with a flat shoulder to sit on rather than threaded studs, basically. The brake cover is different but I believe the shoes and drum are the same, bearings and gears same.

Ed and Russ - Thanks both of you for the information. It's what I'd hoped to hear. For some reason it seems Regular parts are harder to come by than F20 parts. Anyway, I'll proceed with this now, thanks to your input!

Ed, the 16-30H is great! It's now in hibernation, but I'm looking forward to getting it out and running again. The only aspect of this restoration project I'm not pleased with is the amount of gear noise there is when it's propelling itself. You have to wear earmuffs it's so noisy! Others tell me theirs are the same, though. It is what it is.

It amuses me how many folks (not familiar with old iron) think it's a steamer. That big radiator/exhaust on the front makes it look like it, I guess.
