Wow you spend a lot money on fuel? I been off grid for 17 years and never used that much fuel in a month. Use oil heating for hot water and heat. half a gallon per hour.
Currently upgrading to a new 7kw Kubota electricity for the cabin and hot water heating for the shop . . ah I guess 3.5 kw of solar and 18kw of battery bank helps

I have 6 months of winter here as well.

go get an oil fired hot water tank or boiler . or best build your own wood fired with and add on oil burner on the side .
