Charlotte Mehmke’s 40-80 Avery and Aultman Taylor traction engine (model unknown to me)is arriving in Crosby today, the canopy was damaged by the building collapsing last winter, they hope to have it repaired for the show.

Talking Re: Help Crosby, ND Celebrate Its 50th Show

Spring start up in Crosby is just one week away. Lots to get done and lots of new things to see. Startup is much more relaxed and laid back than the annual show. Most of those who show up are from around Crosby but I know of some coming from Saskatoon, Colorado and Eastern North Dakota. We will get a preview of the approx. 20 Mehmke tractors, two new buildings, "new" cars and many more items of interest. It is always good to visit with the residing Chief Dirty Ass of the Never Wipe Tribe. Hope to see many of you there.

Ok, I have cleared my schedule for Saturday so I can come to start up day this year. I'm a rookie and have never attended this before, what do I need to know? I'm at the show almost every year, but have never made it to a start up day. Excited to learn something, and hopefully be of some help

Sounds great Jacob. Everything centers at John's shop. People will be there by 6 am and through out the day. John will have a list of things he will want done. I'll be up in Crosby on Thursday and Bud will be down from Saskatoon either tomorrow or Thursday. Bud has two cars and a truck for John to get started and I am hoping to put a dent in starting three cars and two tractors. I am sure the Flour City tractor and the Case power unit are a couple more items on John's list. Introduce yourself and work, adventure and a good time will fill the day. Look forward to meeting you.

I heard that Montana Slim is that interested in heading up a team for this event, he will manage the team and is wondering if there are any brave souls out there that would join him?

What I have heard is if he enters the contest there are several here that want to be on his team as they know he is hard to beat and want to be with a winner. I would wish him the best of luck if he enters and know Big Al would feel the same if he was here. Slim pulled for Al in his curling contests,

Slims disciples will be lined up around the corner to get on his cornhole team. Might be some rigorous try outs to make the cut.

Mr. Halcon was texting me about this yesterday. He was trying to assemble a team. He can only find volunteers from Manitoba. With the right mix of beverages, those Manitoba lads will do pretty much anything!

Bad news, Slim can't be here for the contest. He has to go to a Auction that day, this is good news for the other contestants.

With the Crosby Threshing Show coming up on July 19-21, it has been reported that Mr. John Tysse is attempting to get the copy rights to Mr. Felgate's 3 wheeler so he can sell them at the show. Contact John as to the availability and get your orders in before they are all spoken for.

I can see now it is out of the question as am way to busy with the coming show to take on something like that. Maybe Slim could handle as he would be a better salesman than I as he has more knowledge along those lines. Hope he would do a better job than he did unloading his Star Car that he just brought in. That should call for a picture on Smokstack

Info for those of you who will be bringing a camper or trailer. Also to those of you who left last year with the understanding that you would be back this year and have a reserved place: Please get with me as I only have a list of three and no indication of what space you want. Thanks.
