I have to agree this is always one of my favorite threads to read. Seems like there is always something great being worked on and the quality of the work is superb.

Hi Guys

I stopped in at Clyde's on Saturday but he wasn't around but the Russell was outside so I took a few pictures to update ya'll on the progress. She looks mighty fine! Another quality job done by Clyde and Lyle!

There is a new boiler outside just waiting for a spot in the shop...... and for the engine to be hauled up from Crosby so they can transfer all the parts.

The Russell was loaded on its way home today! Clyde and Lyle posed for a photo!

The 9 horse case was all apart and the new boiler in the shop being prepared to go back together. I will have pictures of it later.

Clyde and Lyle have been busy working on an Altman Taylor tractor for a customer. I stopped there a couple of weeks ago and found them priming the frame and getting ready for paint. It was a miserable day so didn't get any pictures of engine or any other parts as they were outside covered with a tarp. I did have a photo of the Radiator from last winter.

Well I have made a few trips to Clydes over the winter but have been kinda slack on posting pictures! Sorry!

So I will attempt to catch up a bit.

First a photo of the Altman Taylor's engine with new babbit.

http://www.smokstak.com/gallery/file...ith_babbit.jpg
http://www.smokstak.com/gallery/file...crankshaft.jpg

Here is one of the engine complete. They have had it running and is ready for the tractor. (Them two Saskatoon Berrys keep sneaking in the photos G!) Still some gearing work to do yet before assembly.
http://www.smokstak.com/gallery/file...9/7/engine.jpg

Here is a photo of the gearing etc that still needs attention.

http://www.smokstak.com/gallery/file...s_2_665204.jpg

Somewhere here on Smokstak..... someone..... (I think it was Craig).... was wondering the condition of the Altman Taylor from the Seiverts auction. (not sure I spelled that correctly or not) These photos should answer that question!

Really interesting thread! Is there any chance of videos so we can hear some of them run?

I agree Eldon ....Videos would be nice. But I don't stop in often enough to keep up on progress and be able to coordinate my visit with start up. But if I get the opportunity I will do that for sure! I did make a special trip to Fillmore to video the Geiser when it made its maiden voyage! It can be found in this thread. http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showth...ghlight=geiser

I've been through Fillmore hundreds of times and always meant to stop and meet the owners. Several trips I was loaded with MM and TC steel. Maybe next trip!

This is kinda double update from Clydes.....I forgot to post the pictures of the Case gears last time I was there. So this time I will post pictures of the gears from my last visit. Clyde made up a couple of extra sets.

And one picture of the Rumely engine from last time and one from today showing the progress. Lyle has been in the shop full time and Clyde has been busy doing maintenance on the Locomotives on the short line RR that runs through Fillmore.

A few days ago the company I work with had to move a drilling rig from Fox Creek Alberta to Stoughton Saskatchewan. my truck being in the shop grtting work done to it I was asked to jump in a winch tractor and take a load down there. I got looking at the map for my routing and there is Fillmore. I thought isn't that where Kelly posts about " A trip to Clyde Halls". I was hoping my timing would be so I could stop in and meet the man. It was my lucky day I had time to stop and meet Clyde and Lyle. Had a very good visit . Saw a model B Oilpull they are working on and some other nice tractors, including Clydes model E and probably the nicest WD 40 I have ever seen. Clyde and Lyle 2 very nice men and interesting to talk to. even though I put on 1140 Kilometers that day, and loaded a broke down truck at Chamberlin Sask, ( excellent food in the little café there by the way) the stop was well worth it to say the least.

HI Guys

Clyde and his crew were busy plowing yesterday afternoon. They were breaking up some old Hay ground. So about as close as you can come to breaking up prairie as you can get. An inch or so of rain sure would have helped soften up the sod but they managed to break about 15 acres I would guess.

Clyde was operating his 30-60E. Murray Johanson was pulling the Cockshutt plow with the power lift. And Jim Zora was operating the 20-40. Lyle Stomp was pulling 3 bottoms with his McCormick Deering 22-36 for part of the day then switched to his WD-40.

Here is a post showing the three Rumelys following each other down the furrow. I have more pictures and video to follow.
