Want to ask is there some one here on the Stak that lives near this town if I had the phone number of a Florist I would see to it that there would be a flower arrangement sent to the above Funeral home I would have card read in Loving memory Friends from the Smokstak.

Dan
The funeral home tel. # is 207-725-5511. They can probably recommend a florist.

Well, you got the jump on me. I was already on the phone ordering a nice Rainbow Of Remembrance spray from Flowers, etc. in Brunswick, Maine. Sent in the name of Friends from the SmokStak Forum.

Colette and I have been in contact by email and I sent her a link to this thread. I will be attending the wake on Tuesday.

FYI, I am planning on paying my respects at Ed's Wake around 1 PM on Tuesday., in Brunswick, ME. It is a 2 hour drive from here? I hope I can offer my condolences on behalf of all the Smokstak members and express how important Ed was to us.

HE seemed like a real nice down to earth type of guy. He had a big heart , takes a lot to be a volunter on fire dept duty. Get calls at home all hours of the night for both fires and medical issues. Also in winter false fire alarms of sun making steam on a house pouch and someone calls it in as a fire.

Still can't wrap my head around it. He was always busy, maintaining cabins, keeping his house and family warm and lit during many power outages, basically extending himself whenever someone needed something.

I'm sure we on the Stak only experienced a small part of what he offered and he offered his knowledge (and parts) pretty freely.

My heart aches for his wife, reading the article about how they had planned to slow down and do some vacationing and such.. she got short changed the worst.

I hope those that go get some closure, I think it is a wonderful gesture for those that can go to make the trip and I thank you for being such stand-up gentlemen.

He will certainly be missed, here and on his island.

RIP Ed.

Today is the funeral For Ed. Just kind of being quiet and thinking of all the good times we had here at the Stak. Keeping the Family and friends in my prayers. There are a lot of good folks on this wonderful site and too many to name. Hopefully we will be here a while longer. One day we shall meet up in Heaven and see all of our family and friends once again. God Bless and keep us all safe. Onan Dan

I will forever wonder what question or information he had for me.
I received my answer today. As mentioned Ed had emailed me asking if I had received an envelope. It was addressed wrong. It was missing the house number and last name was incorrect. Shortly after Ed died his wife emailed me to let me know she had received his letter back from the post office and asked for my correct address so she could mail what Ed had sent. It was a short note thanking me for working on the various discs and inside a gift card to Cabellas.

I appreciated it so much that Colette passed it on to me. (The note) I was talking about it with my wife and we figured it was a question that would never be answered.

As I expressed in my email to Colette we all had a fondness for Ed because he always wanted to help. He will be missed by many.
