After this thinking an search was set up on the farm and the smokstakers are not going to believe there eyes of what is going to show up in the pictures.

In the old Stanley Park Vancouver Canada there was also once such an fabulous famoust old Canadian Tree.

This Tree have been cut down in 2008 because it became to dangerous.

Unhappy Re: Tunnel Tree

Local news said the tree was over a thousand years old. The fact that the trunk was compromised by such a large hole cut thru it probably didn't help much. The trunk splintered when the tree fell - busted all to pieces Too bad, another landmark lost. There are other trees with holes cut in them, but this wa the most famous and pictured.

A terrible wind storm went through Stanley Park about 10-12 years ago and damaged so many of the great trees. I was last there in 1975.

I've always wanted to see the Sequoias and especially the tunnel tree. I remember Yellowstone and some of the other places when I was little - but I don't remember ever making it to most of the California parks.

It was one of my dreams... just as taking my wife to see the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone (and maybe Craters of the Moon) is another.

I think I have pictures of my G Grandpa and G Grandma at the tunnel tree. I don't have time to look for them right now, however.

Hopefully that beautiful wood is harvested and not left laying on the ground.
