Default johnson seahorse model ms38 sausage tank?

free to me..1938 Johnson seahorse model ms38 serial # 300621.what spark plug and gap do I run on this and points gap and if i'm real lucky where to find a carb rebuild kit also what are the carb settings and any other infro I can get on this, I would appreciate any infro on this fella's ,just got it and want to clean her up and get it running right.....thanks ...

Johnson MS38 >>> 1938 , 1.1 HP use Champion J8 (C) plug gap .030 , point gap .020. Oil 1/2 Pt per gal. As for the carburetor , no "kit" required, just take the fuel system apart and clean real good. I believe that that fuel tank is copper, so should be no rust. The ignition coils on these old Johnsons are usually OK, may need to replace the condenser. Get er' running .

thanks joe, I see your close by me. do you know the carb main and idle screw valve start settings. and start procedures..

had to solder new plug wire to coil and go thru most everything (got spark) i'll see if she fires off tomorrow ...
