Default Myrick Jr?

I recently picked up a small 1 1/2 HP Myrick Eclipse engine. I am assuming its an early Jr. as it has a cast brass tag and S.N. 489. I checked the Myrick Registry site and it Is the lowest SN of the 1 1/2 HP engines. Did they not call them JR's until they went to the stamped tags? Anyway thought I would share a few pictures.

Nice Junior In unmolested shape Mike! I do believe you are right about the Junior moniker being only on the stamped tag versions. It's weird that the stamped tags on the larger engines appear to surface around s/n 1000 as I recall. I wonder if the muffler is original? Are there any markings on it? Alway nice to see another small myrick surface.

Paul,
I can't confirm the muffler is original to the engine or not as I don't know what the original looked like. I know it looks like its been on there for a long time. Maybe somebody that knows will chime in.

Nice original Jr. Mike, looks correct right down to the mount. Attached is a picture
of mine, serial no. 496. Very close to yours, notice the difference in the tag.
