Default Dick Jones Auction

Lots of engines as well as tons of other farm related items on this auction.
This guy had been collecting for a long time and picked out some great stuff to take home.

I was reading their terms, they can remove from auction any time prior to when the gavel falls. So in other words, all items have a reserve. And they have Vericheck, your check can clear your bank when written. And if you can not pay for item, they resell it and you owe them any ammount difference if it resells for less than your bid.
I have actually heard of some really good deals, when people get peed and drive 650 mile one way back to Alabam, it hurts business.
And they charge 5% credit card fees, rather than the normal 3%.
I would have had to hang around and see what I could bargainate. I would still go if I did not have prior commitments.
So how many numbers are out and is the weather bad?

I went to buy restored engines. In the flyer they said restored engine . An they got one thing right ,when they said pictures don't do them justice. I would have loved to had some of the stuff there. But I think these people are working a scam when they lie. It costed me $400 in fuel for my 1119 mile round trip and didn't cost the auction company anything to lie except a customer.

Two different auctions. Looks like the deals were much better in WA. Jason

Did you ever bother calling Kurt to ask him about the quality of the engine restorations or did you just assume they were to your level of satisfaction? I was there and would have called most of them nice restorations. It doesn't sound like I'm quite as picky as you are, but I know if I had a 1000+ mile round trip I would have made some phone calls first. I have zero affiliation with Aumman's but I take offense that you are trying to call them scammers and liars, been to a lot of their sales and have ALWAYS been happy with Kurt and his staff, one of the best in the business if you ask me!

I agree, there was a lot of nice engines there. Yes there was some that wasn't as nice but as a whole they were what I would call restored. Quite a few nice painted engines that I would say you couldn't do much better to call them restored. I ended up with the 5hp New Holland. A very nice original engine. Im getting ready to fire it up and hear it purr.

Not to beat a dead horse but I did call on the one I wanted and they said restored. Not and original or an older restoration.
