Default 1952 Llister FR 1-6...

...with this in line. I've seen my share of separators and filters but this is foreign to me.
This is mounted in line from the feed tank to one of the engines, the aux diesel and the boiler. There was all kinds of crud in this as well as the aux and boiler filters. I haven't looked in the block filter yet. Tusitala had been running fine until on engine quit while pulling into slip. I'm a fair mechanic with a few decades of marine experience so I'm just looking to satisfy curiosity before the inevitable fuel system purge .

Your engines, and your wallet would probably benefit from a couple of centrifugal filters/separators. Beautiful vessel, what history?
