Question 2 HP Vertical Famous ?'s

Working on two 2 hp Famous engines. One is ser.# KA15027 (1909) and it does not have a throttle control lever only a flat arm that is L shaped and comes around and bolts up in the same place as the lever would. The other is ser.# KA28417 (1912) and it does have the throttle control lever. Is the 1909 missing it's lever? Did all 2 hp verts. have them? If not then what year did they appear? I would love to see some close ups of this area and see examples of both.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Hi Mke,
My 2hp Famous (pump engine) is a 1908 and it does not have the lever. I saw two others at a recent show that both had the lever. If I remember correctly they were both after 1910. Also, they both had brass-body fuel pumps, where mine is cast iron.

OK thanks, What's the purpose then of the flat bar or bracket that comes around and just stops that is bolted to the same place where the speed control lever is on the 1912? I don't see its purpose. Can you post a pic. of yours in this area.

Mike
