Default IHC Famous 3hp vertical

Hello all
I just picked up a vert.3 hp tank cooled famous today, got her running first crank, but the water pump is not operating the way it should.
It had not been run for at least 4yrs.
I oiled the water pump piston prior to starting.
Any suggestions as to what I might have to do to get her pumping properly??
Thanks in advance
Dave

Unscrew the fitting on top of the pump and make sure the check balls are not stuck. Brian

Sometimes you need to prime it just to get it started. I have a "T" fitting on top of my pump with plug on top that I use to prime it. Make sure the lever that is used to drain the water is in the correct position or you can run it all day and get nothing. If that doesn't work try post # 2

Thanks for the tips
I took the pump off the engine and took it all apart and the inlet was pluged solid with crud, cleaned up the top leather and repacked the piston flange nut and then I got water, have to install a Tee on top to prime when needed.
Thanks again
Dave
