Default John Preston Auction

Since I am not going to be able to attend the John Preston Estate auciton on Saturday in Michigan, Is there anyone here that can take digital photos and document the results of the gas engines? I will be happy to put them up on my web page. There are some neet engines there that I would love to have a picture of.

Tom

I would like to see the 3 shideshafts, the Pattin Bros, Reid and other oil field engines, novo w/pump, globe,olds...I guess you get the idea...The ad lists 32 engines. Low res works for me 640x480.

The auction is in Lakeville, MI. There is a full page ad in GEM p39

Default Engine Prices Preston sale?

Does anyone have any engine price results from the John Preston sale? I was kind of curious as to how much the Ironwood engine brought. Thanks

The 8 HP Reid brought $16,000

yes that is $16,000

I had all the prices written down and then set down my clip board while loading and forgot to pick it up so I can't help on the Ironwood but I thought it brought around $1700 but I could be wrong.

Sorry Steve, I didn't get to the auction early enough to take pics but hopefully someone else got some pics or go to the auctioner web site and get their pics.

Ironwood was $2000. I'm working on the web page. I have the list of engines and prices typed up just need to rename photos and throw a page together. Also have to work in between too.

I purchased the 3-5 H.P. International Harvester LB at the Preston Auction. My first engine purchase. It is a good runner but I plan to dis-assemble and restore in the Fall. Does anyone have a good reference that I could use to trace the serial number and find original manufacturing information (year, quantity produced, etc.)? Any recommendations on a good reference manual for operation and/or restoration of the engine?

Thanks for any help. Tom, Armada Mi.
