Do you have the breaker or breakerless ignition?

Breaker less ignition.

If I switch it off before it is warmed up, it shuts down like it is supposed to.

Thus, the switch is not defective.

If you don't have the engine wiring diagram here is a link. I suspect something is not right in the terminal box behind the starting pulley. The switch should kill the engine at all times. Check all your connections and terminals.

Turns out I have a weak magnets in the coil box up front, and weak spark gives the same symptoms as too much fuel, and it would rapidly foul the cylinders, making it run on compression ignition (firing on the glowing carbon deposit).

Where can I get a new magnet?

My thoughts are to make a new one from neodymium (I have a machine shop so I can make something to put two barrel magnets in that will fit exactly in the same shape and housing) but time dictate that I buy one for now...
