Photo Look what I brought home

it is a 2.5 hp ihc lb i seen it behind a fence hooked to a oilfield pumpjack being used as a field ornament, i went and found out who owned it and got it for $75 i do have the mag for it and the valve cover but i think the valve cover is off of a 5 hp ihc lb it dont fit right and the stud the wingnut goes on is to short, it is all thier and still turns over the valves are both froze wide open, the gov gear and weights were off laying in the bottom of the crankcase i took it out to see if was stripped out or broken and it was fine it just for some reason screwed off whech was a good thing, he told me he was always going to unlock the gate for me which he never did so i finally got tired on waiting so i picked it up and threw it over the fence it was probably 4 .5 feet high then it made a big poof when it hit the really soft mud cody

I just picked up one these myself this past weekend, actually a IHC LA with nice original paint complete, only needing a pulley. I got it to pop by putting gas in the head, the tank needs to be cleaned and sealed, thats is. Not to smart of an idea throwing it like that, your super lucky it didn't land on the flywheel or you would be needing one now. On my first LB which I sold, it fell on it about 2 inches on the garage floor and cracked the part of the wheel where the bolt mounts, i luckily found another one.

hey skip i will probably not make it to the havre show i am leaving to go to a school in spokane tomorrow to go do heavy equipment and welding it will probably take a year to do that, thats why i was kinda in a hurry to get that ihc lb out of thier it just sittin thier for another year is to long for me and i even thought if it sat that much longer someone else could take it home, i knew the mud below where i dropped it from was super soft and i made sure the motor fell upside down right on top of the hopper, skipp keep that motor for me dont let it go anywhere i wont ever forget that u have it i will get it some day cody

Yeah Kevins right about the back. dont be picking these old things up and heaving them over a fence. Ive got a screwed up back all ready. not due to collecting these old engines but for some other reasons that i dont know. save youre back and use a lift next time.
