Photo Gas Traction Big 4 from Blomgren Estate

We are currently working on the Big 4 chassis that was purchased from the Morris Blomgren estate. The upper and lower crankcases, cylinders, flywheel, and many other parts have been cast and machined. Attached is a picture of my wife and I standing by our purchase and of the engine assembly as it was shown at the Minnesota state fair along with other pictures.

Allan:

It is great that the Big 4 is going back together. Do you have a timeframe when you believe it will be completed? How long did Mr. Blomgren have the chassis and did he have any idea what happened to the engine?

Please keep the pictures coming.

Wow, that's some quick turn around time! Congrats on your Big 4 and I hope we get to see it continue to come together!

Used to know where there was a big 4 crankshaft in a junk pile, but it is now gone. Wish I would have brought it home as I understand it could be put to good use now.

Its a lot different to bring something rough like a Big Four than a Farmall or other items that people see every day.
Who wouldn't want to see the Big Four?

I tell everybody I will have it ready by the 4th of July, but I'm not giving a year. I have hopes of getting the engine running this winter. I am getting lots of help from other owners of Big 4 tractors and couldn't do it without them.

No, I have not talked to them yet.

Our biggest help so far has come from Bruce and Brian Flatmoe and Steve Bauer of the Little Log House Village in Hastings, MN. I have also gotten some help from Brett Kemper, John Tysse, Dan Crist and Joe Brosig and numerous others. A project of this size needs a lot of brainstorming from anybody with information and it is very much appreciated. I will have my wife post more pictures when she gets time as she is also a big help on this project.

Allan,
I've got to say "WOW" for the work done so far. My hat's off to anyone like you, or the Flatmoes, that will tackle a project of this magnitude!

Keep up the remarkable work.
