Default Ottawa Hit/Miss Saw Questions

Greetings fellow saw addicts!
I just bought a hit & miss Ottawa saw from a friend, It was buried in a barn for many, many years. I don't know what the board "kick stand" was for. One of the handles is bad, so I'm replacing everything. The winch pieces, blade support and spikes off of one of my other saws are at Cattail right now to be used for patterns for new ones. Question one, isn't the fuel tank supposed to be mounted to the head? If so, does anyone have the measurement of an original (pictures would be a big help!). I also don't quite understand the mixer. Is there supposed to be a larger leather or fiber disk behind the needle where the washer is in the picture or is that all there is to it? There was a check ball in the elbow, but I wouldn't think you would need one with the fuel above the mixer. Thanks for any advice. Jim

Yes the fuel tank should be mounted on the head, as for the kickstand, its probably because the tank is low and its the only way to get it to run. Or it might be just for display. You have an ES model, I sold the one I had and don't have any pictures. As for the mixer sorry I just don't remember
