Default Question about the Tecumseh V50

Does anyone know when tecumseh started making the v50? I have a small lawn tractor with one that I believe is from the late fifties. Is there a way to date these motors? I've done Google searches but can't find anything specific on the history of them. Thanks for any info. Cheers.
