Hercules/Economy drag saws are fairly common, although probably not as common as Ottawa. We usually have 5-8 drag saws cutting at the same time at Cotton Ginning each year. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7aFdcfBODA They are LOTS of fun and a real crowd pleaser!

I have several log saws:
Economy 1.75 HP, Model F, log saw. Restored.
Hercules 1.75 HP XK log saw, unrestored.
Parts for another Hercules/Economy log saw. Need engine.
Witte 1.5 HP Log saw, partially restored.

There a few Hercules/Economy log saws around. Not rare but not real common ether.

Log saws in operation sure draw a crowd at a show. Here is our Economy at Cotton Ginning Days a few years ago:

That's a neat display Dave. Looks like it keeps the whole family and the friends busy watching all those saws.

Hi Chris,

I now have a Mutnomah Drag saw that I just stripped down. The rod is badly bent and I am in need of another one. Any ideas where I can find one

Thanks

Phil

Can't say I collect drag saws since I only have one (so far). It's a 4 HP Wade 2 stroke. Came from a nearby ranch and was used there for many years. I've got it torn apart now for repairs but if everything goes reasonably well it will be sawing again in a few weeks.
