I have a Neptune outboard model # 1a 39. I need the following items for a rebuild I am planning. Points, Condenser, Magneto, Rings, Carb Kit and gasket set. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can get these parts?

I found some a condensors and points at my local auto parts store for some of my older outboards. It helps if you buy coffee for the counterfolk and they may make a serious effort to help you. Ive had good luck matching parts to pictures in old catalogues buried under the counter.

I have a Model A2 Neptune Outboard motor (3.3HP), serial #D6290A. I am looking for piston rings, part #2-11A and a gasoline tank valve, part #3-19A. The rings I have are broken and the valve will not close. Does anyone have a source for these? John from Michigan

Terry, your carb should have a # on the side, Check your Carb. number and go to this site and look up the number and that should give you the year. www.asecc.com/data/tillotson.html I got this site here on this forum a couple of nights ago to check our a Neptune Twin I just purchased. Hope this helps. Jerry

JANDB,
These folks might be able to help with the rings.

It may take some digging but this club has helped me allot.
http://www.aomci.org/index.htm

You might take a picture of the shut off valve and Email it with an inquiry to various vendors. If you click on "Sponsors" at the heading of this page you might find some one who deals in carburetors/fuel tank who might have such a fitting.

Chris

Your motor is a Neptune "Junior" 4hp made in 1937.
Thats all I know about your motor, but you can get
more info at
http://www.aomci.org/index.htm
Go to the "Ask a member" forum. There's a lot of
help to be had there.
I have a 1951 Neptune m/A1, 1.7hp that came from
a garage sale. It started a collection that is up to
15 motors and growing.

Good Luck with your motor!
