Default Evinrude 4 cyl. Inboard?

Can anyone identify this engine? The aluminum manifold was broken and mostly missing when I received it. A four ball flanged Kingston, same as Evinrude 4 cycle outboard, was rigged onto a D Dispro that came with the Evinrude. the carb intake could'nt have gone through the crankcase.

Hi.The 4cycle evinrude out board is model AA and was mde only 1916-17 only.I would date this at as such. They were heavy and really expensive. And considered rare.My guess in my liture its 1916 model EE. 4hp .somewhere in the casting usually in cast iron there should be letters and numbers hand stamped. The serial numbers for double E is 59,00-59,056.The paint shold be a light machine grey, unless its from a fire pump then red.but the in boards should be grey color.I hope this willhelp u in some way.Im an a.o.m.c.i. collector .

Thanks for the info. One of the interesting pieces on this engine is the brass gear pump and it's mount.

I was recently told a company called Pacific Industries used these engines to power water pumps. Does anyone have information relating to this?

A photo of the intake manifold, or remnants and connections to the cylinders would be helpful. You may be aware that the Evinrude Model AA "4-cycle" was a bit of a hi breed motor. Intake from the carb was through the crankcase as in a normal 2-cycle employing gas/ oil mix for lubrication. The intake to the cylinders via an manifold to atmospheric intake valves. Exhaust was by cam actuated exhaust valves as normal for a 4 - cycle.
