It's the regulator card for the older Onan 2-Amp battery chargers that hung inside the transfer switches. (item 12 in the attached jpeg)

It is also an obsolete item from the factory, as is the charger it went in.

I personally liked these old 2 amp chargers; some did not. The weak link was actually on the card you have. The solder joints on the plug socket could get hot and drop the solder and quit working, but were easily repaired.

DC Voltage selection was done via the toggle switch, depending whether you had a 24 or 12 volt DC system. AC voltage was decided buy either purchasing the charger with the correct voltage rating on the label, or simply open up the one you had and move the transformer tap, as most actually had a multi-tap transformer.

Same regulator card, but its not actually the part # of the charger assembly. Really is no number for the assembly. This charger went in an LT II transfer switch.

Input from transformer would have read about 20 volts AC across J6-3 and J6-2, and 40 volts AC across J6-3 and J6-1. AC voltage ran through the R1 and R3 current limiting resistors, but I don't know their value.

You'd have to find a little transformer to go with it, to get your 120 down to 24-20 volts AC.

Buy a Battery Tender

http://www.batterystuff.com/battery-...v022-0157.html

That's one source but others sell them as well, check around.

Fully automatic, has float, equalize modes, etc etc. Plugs into 120v outlet. Beats the pants off that old onan charger hands down. There has been 10's of thousands of these put on generators and they work well. IMHO this will extend the life of a quality battery by 50% or so over a trickle charger. Will happily charge from dead everything from a motorcycle battery up to a pair of 8D batteries. (tho it takes 3-4 days to fully charge a pair of 8D's-it's only a 5 amp charger)
