I've done it for years, slow but effective 70% of the time.

For those really ugly carbs I use some caustic aluminum rim cleaner,
That stuff is eating the aluminum and the dirt so be careful and never leave it sit without you there watching it.

Then there is the nuclear option:
Warm the carb with a torch in the specific areas where the circuitry is and the clog is suspected.
Hot enough to cause anything in there to melt/burn but no so hot to melt metal.
Then as it cools back in dip of rim cleaner.
Its harsh but sometimes works.

I field strip and drop it into this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2L-Industry...0AAOSwYVlaA8h5

fill with water and 2-4 drops of dishsoap,
Set temp at 90C, tIme for 30min and walk away.

Haven't found one that didn't come perfectly clean yet.

Have some carb issues yet, wont start without assistance. It did however start without surprises. It even tried to putt to a start on a bit of carb cleaner vapor that was hanging out in the intake and surprised me. No smoke, barely any blow-by out of the breather. Have not loaded it yet either, as this is a test and flush run. Sounds like the rear bearing in the gen head might need replaced (squeaks and sounds rough when running), and the valves are going to need an adjustment. Going to run it one more time and swap the oil. Stuck a big honkin neo magnet on the drain plug, so well see if anything comes out. The audio makes it sound rougher than it really is. All I have for a muffler right now is a burned out home made glasspack off a motorcycle too.

Apart from what may be some main jet issues, it seems this walbro wants to run. I ordered up a choke from fleabay but im missing the thermostrip assembly yet. Assuming there isnt something catastrophically wrong with this one, I might be ok. Appreciate the look though.

Pauls12, Guess I just ordered a case of the weird colored stuff. Whoops. Lets find out!

Also, trying to track down the bearing lookup number for the brush end bearing in the alternator head Part Number 510-0074 . $55 seems kinda silly for a sealed ball bearing, heck I could pick up a sealed roller bearing for that price. Looks a little interesting to replace, so having less parts on the bench for more than an hour is a good thing lol.

I think that it takes the same end bearing as the 4/5 cck
Here is the bearing I got for my 4cck it is a "fag" "6205.2rsr.c3"
You will have to carefully grind with a Dremel a "slot" into the outside of the bearing,
For the anti rotation "clip", careful taking off the the clip, and don't lose or break it, I don't think that they sell them any more.

Somewhere here in the 46 pages of JohnnyC's build thread he has a pretty good explanation of replacing the rear bearing:

6205 is the magic number. Thanks! The notch seems a bit of silly nonsense. A readily available bearing with a dimple and a setscrew would have made sense. Looks like a fun little project, but I intended to get in there and do some contact cleaning anyways. Its on page 13 of JohnnyC's thread, for anyone who might be following along. I intend to do a load test tomorrow after poking the carb to see what happens before ripping the back end off it. Thanks!
