The block off plate for the mechanical pump is right above your coolant recovery tank.

Parts for these machines really are not in circulation other than at the dealer. 300 dollars for a belt guard.......

Looking in the wrong place - these 'super 05' series Kubotas are in about 3 million reefer units running up and down the highway.

It's not the Kubota engine parts that are a problem. Its the Onan parts. I have this exact same model set, currently as a project. It was missing the right hand side guard over the belt/back side of the radiator. New one is just south of 300 dollars from Cummins. I ended up getti g a DKD part. It's not a perfect fit but it works. Was far cheaper.

These 10HDKAH units must be too new and too reliable. Not much in the way of used parts out there.

Question Re: Farewell Large Marge, hello Onan 10HDKAG

Ok, the generator end passed all the tests including the dynamic rotor test which indicates the AVR is bad.

So was the XR500B I had laying around that came with the DJC.

Which brings me to this AVR from the MDJE post spec AA (sorry no nameplate)

Looks pretty simple.

top 2 are F1 & F2

so the bottom 2 have to be L1 & L2? Right?

Anybody have a schematic of this AVR?

First 2 photos are the AVR from the MDJE... last one is the AVR on the HDKAG

There is a schematic of the AVR in some of the J series manuals , with part numbers and component values. I have seen it but can't remember exactly where. Are you contemplating using the DJC avr in the HDKAG? Did you ever get anywhere with the SX460 testing? Cheers Dan

The AVR that came with the DJC was the XR500B - it is dead.

Replaced a diode in the magneciter on the DJC, have yet to get it running to test.

I'd happily use an aftermarket unit, that didn't cost an arm or a leg. :-)

Meanwhile I'd like to use what I have... Big Bertha (1990's Troy Built 5550) is so loud that I'm wearing hearing protection (and I'm already somewhat deaf), is the only set I've got currently putting out power. I've got 200+ gallons of diesel on site, I really need the HDKAG to put out the correct voltage.

I read somewhere about being able to do a test with 120V... that looks like it. Doesn't help me much. I know these are AC in, but in operation are they 240, or 120?

2 wires in, 2 wires out... I know where the out goes, just not sure what goes in.

Kubota has an electric fuel pump you see on the 520 a lot.
This is not the same as Gasoline pumps.
Presure is higher and the do not like gasoline and seize up.

I do not recognize that particular fuel pump, but I do not think its Kubota/MQ Power.
