Default Reid Flywheel Wanted

Gents

I've got a Reid with two bust spokes in the charging side flywheel. I've discussed ways of repairing it, but I keep coming back to my preference of replacing it with sound one. Not so much of an issue, other than the fact my engine is over here in England!

So, is there anyone who can help me find a 5'6" wheel for a 25hp engine? If I can find one I might be able to get it shipped over with some other stuff through a friend of a friends friend. But before I worry about logistics, is there one available anywhere?

Cheers

Dazzla

You might try and contact Lee Pederson, a sponsor here on the Stak. I know Lee has shipped many things to your side of the big pond. He might be able to locate one thru his contacts stateside.

You will need to know if left or right hand, approximate age and crankshaft diameter and flywheel width, besides flywheel OD for starters. there should be one around, there were quite a few made.

unfortunately you're about two months late. there were several that sold for scrap price at the Thornhill auction.

I don't think it matters if you have a left or right hand engine the flywheels are the same on both.

I know rosevink has contacts over your way and send containers fairly frequently so I don't think getting one shipped would be much of an issue

there are a few guys that advertise in the large engine section that have a lot of oil field engine parts. I wouldn't think a good flywheel would cost a whole heck of a lot.

good luck

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate I need to give more detail, but I thought I'd test the water first to see if someone can help.

The flywheels are different depending on whether the engine is right or left ( location of counterweights and charge piston pin). Stand in front of the engine facing the cylinder "head". If the power pulley is on the left then it is a lefty, vice versa for right.
A 25 flywheel will be hard to find. Good Luck. Bill Klein

This is the engine it's for. Some of you may recognise it.
