ATL01 - 4/1/2016 Event Summary:

This afternoon, there was a fire at a Georgia Power substation serving the downtown Atlanta area. The fire and subsequent transformer failure caused a power outage in the downtown Atlanta metro area.

During this outage UPS01 experienced a critical fault and failed to switch to bypass mode. UPS01 has been wrapped around and power has been restored. UPS02 & UPS03 experienced no impact. This issue exclusively impacted customers utilizing A power feed serviced from UPS01 only. All customers with A/B power delivery experienced no impact.

During this event our ATL03 datacenter experienced no anomalies whatsoever and is currently functioning optimally.
This outage has only affected rows A, B, C, D, and a portion of row E.
At this time, facilities technicians are on-site working to restore power to the affected rows.

Event Summary Update 4/1/2016:

UPS01 which suffered a fault earlier today and was switched into full wrap around bypass is currently being repaired by technicians from our UPS vendor. We expect all repairs to be completed later this evening. Once repairs are complete and tested, customer equipment will be returned to UPS01. During this switch over we do not anticipate any interruption in service.

Event Summary Update: 4/2/2016:

UPS01, which experienced a hardware fault on 4/1/2016 after an upstream power supply issue has been fully repaired by UPS technicians. At this time the system has been tested and found to be in optimal working order after repairs.

As of 0107h EDT, all repairs on UPS01 were completed thus restoring the integrity of all critical infrastructure. Load has been shifted back to this UPS and all customer equipment powered by this segment is once again protected and working properly.
