Default CCK Vacuum booster

Hi All,
I am constantly inspired by my manual that claims that the vacuum booster can be adjusted to actually make the speed rise under load. I've cranked it up to maximum tension, shortened the spring, etc. and never been able to make it do that. The whole thing is new, the gaskets, diagram, springs, etc, the lever comes way back when the engine gets loaded, everthing looks right - it just doesn't seem strong enough to actually boost the speed all the way back up to 1800 at full load. Has anyone actually seen one that would? Fixed one that wouldn't?

Thanks again,

Ted

The booster is a very good unit and will keep the speed up if adjusted correctly. Is the pin stiil in the bottom of the booster.

Hi Billy,
Yes, the pin is in - I've tried it at max power - bar all the way out, and it still wouldn't cause the RPM's to actually go higher under load. It definitly helps keep the speed up, but if you read the manual, they make it sound like you could have it set too high. I even tried a stronger spring between the booster arm and the throttle rod, and it didn't make an appreciable difference. The booster arm is moving nicely - it comes way back when the gen is loaded up, but it doesn't seem like it can pull on the throttle rod hard enough...
