The sad iron warmer seems a good theory. It explains that lip.

I hate to hear it maybe missing legs. I may go back and ask about legs. Just in case. it was sitting outside, might get lucky. Probably not. I asked about parts already.

And meanwhile, I will run a series of google search on sad iron stove, laundry stove etc,...
