Default Erdle Collection

Ed Bezanson Well its almost Christmas and I thought it was a good time to feature some pics I took at Jim Erdles place a few weeks ago. Jim is 84 years young and doing great. My friends and I go to a toy auction in his area every year and we always stop and spend a day with him. The pics are of just a few of the many rare and unusual tractors in his sheds in Western NY Those who have made a visit already understand what a treasure trove he has ammassed over the past 50 years. All of his contemporary friends like Oscar & Earl have gone on but Jim is still at it. He his presently restoring a General Ordinance in his shop.

Here are some more Pics Jims buildings are packed as tight as he can get them so it is a chore to climb over and around to get good pics.

Papa looks to be in a pretty good mood. As he would say, "cuter than a little pig pissin' ". The wife says to say hello Papa!

G I remember it as "Cuter than a baby pig pissin on a rock" Either way it is one of Jims best lines. Ed B

Wow What a nice collection It's amazing how many good collections are still around and not too many people do know about them. I guess to say "That's the only surviver" is not right, there is always another i would say.
We just found that out over here, with finding another Lanz Feldmotor.

We always stop and say hi when at the Pageant of Steam, it is not uncommon to meet people there from all over the world, last summer there were some from Australia and Norway. James is ALWAYS welcoming and he knows his stuff and is willing to share his expansive knowledge. My son always makes sure we go, we've been going there for 15 years and always see something we missed every time. I would encourage all in our hobby to see this while it is still there, best to call ahead, his number is listed and he appreciates this.

Jim always has a hot or cold drink available since he has run a catering [drink and candy machines] for years so there are machines setup in his upper shop and it is free.
Bart like you I have been taking my youngest son to Jims each Dec for 17 years. It is interesting that it is well konwn by serious collectors around the world but is relatively unknown by everyone else. Ed B
