Default New member saying Hi, Bakersfield California

Hi all. Really glad this site was recommended to me. I am a valve repair tech. My specialties include all pressure relief valves, Reguators and Control valves. I am also a machinist. The shop I work in has a high pressure boiler which we use to test safety valves up to 1648 psi steam. Recently my wifes brother inlaw bought 2 steam whistles. I agreed to take a look at them. The first is a 3/4" Lonergan. The second is an 1 1/2" Lunkenheimer Mockingbird. I found it is missing a part so after a bit of internet searching I was recommended this site.

Welcome, My uncle, by marriage, had a sister (Jan) and her husband, (Elmer) ran a drive in there years ago. Don't remember the name of it, but stopped in there, when I was stationed in Port Hueneme in the 60's and was on the way to Susanville. And Happy Harvick is from your town.

Mockingbird:

Hello and welcome to the Stak!

My first advice is to NOT test those whistles with that 1468 PSI steam.

"My first advice is to NOT test those whistles with that 1468 PSI steam."

That would probably bring dogs from as far as Idaho!
